Fontenelle Forest Nature Center
1111 North Bellevue Blvd.  Bellevue, NE (402) 731-3140

Fontenelle Forest Nature Center is a National Historic Landmark featuring 1400 acres of densely wooded hills, hollows, and marshes.  The Forest also includes 15 miles of trails, including two barrier-free boardwalks with interpretive labels and the Katherine and Fred Buffett Forest Learning Center where a variety of programs, classes, and events are conducted.  Monday and Tuesday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., the Forest offers “Mud Pies,” a program specifically designed for children age 5 and under.  During this program, children, along with a parent or other adult caregiver, join educator Kate Murphy for age-appropriate, nature-based activities and a snack.  A different topic is explored at each session.  Registration is not required – just drop in.  Admission for children is $2 for members, $3 for non-members.  Adults are free.
