Recreation Areas
City Parks
Omaha has 200 public parks.  Check out the City Parks & Recreation website for a wealth of information about the facilities and programs offered by the City.  Facilities include swimming pools, tennis courts, community/senior centers, golf courses, day-camps, marinas and much more.  Programs include a recreational swim league for children age 6-18; baseball, basketball, football, hockey and ice skating programs for kids 6-15; the Sun Dawgs summer playground program; and a Junior Wheelchair Sports & Recreation Camp, which introduces camping and sports to physically-challenged kids ages 5 and up.
State Parks
The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission website is an excellent source of information about camping, fishing, hunting, boating and other outdoor activities available in Nebraska.  Use their maps to find a recreation area near you.  Make camping and lodging reservations online and purchase permits and licenses.  The Commission offers a variety of educational programs and lists volunteer opportunities.
Papio-Missouri Natural Resource District
Need a map of metro-area trails?  The Papio-Missouri NRD partially sponsors the Papio Trails network available to local hikers, bikers, joggers and walkers.  This site also details recreation areas maintained by the NRD.
